Guided Kitesurf Tours & Private Lessons · Algarve, Portugal
Small-group kitesurf tours for experienced riders along 200km of Algarve coastline — and private lessons for those just getting started. Every session documented on photo and video for you to keep.
The Algarve has over 200 km of Atlantic coastline — and the right kitesurf spot changes every single day, depending on wind direction, swell height, tide, and time of year. Most kite schools in Portugal take you to the same lagoon every session. We don't.
We wake up early, check the forecasts, study the swell charts, and decide where to go. You show up and ride the best conditions available that day — somewhere along the Algarve's west and south coast, from Lagos to Sagres and beyond.
After the session, you leave with professional photo and video footage of your day on the water. Something you'll actually keep — not a blurry GoPro clip.
We chase good conditions instead of repeating the same location daily.
Every session documented with commercial-grade equipment and editing. The footage is yours.
The Kitesurfari is for independent riders — but new to the sport? We now teach private lessons, max 2 students per instructor.
Choose your package and a date window. We confirm once we see a good forecast window approaching.
We send you the meeting point the evening before — wind check, conditions overview, and what to expect.
We pick up the group and drive to the spot together. That journey is part of the experience — the Kitesurfari starts in the car.
Edited photos and video delivered digitally within 48 hours. Ready to share, keep, or relive.

Book thisWind-first scheduling: We don't run sessions on bad-wind days. If conditions fall short on your date, we reschedule within your trip window at no extra cost. Your Kitesurfari happens when the ocean earns it — and we'll be watching the forecast closely.
The 7-Day Kitesurfari Camp includes your accommodation: a luxury pool villa in Praia da Luz, shared with your crew for the week — because the Kitesurfari doesn't end when you leave the water.
Home base for the week is a luxury villa with private pool in Praia da Luz, a small beach town in the western Algarve — for our group of up to 6 riders, and no one else.
Evenings at the villa are where a group of strangers becomes a crew: cooking together, replaying the day's footage, planning tomorrow's spot over a drink by the pool. If you're travelling solo, this is the part that turns a kite trip into a week you'll talk about for years.
Kitesurfaris are the backbone of the week — but not all of it. Woven through the schedule:
Travelling with a non-kiting partner, or planning to extend your stay before or after camp week? We know the area well and are happy to help you find an apartment in Lagos — subject to availability. Just mention it in your enquiry.
PortuKite now teaches beginners and early-stage riders — through João, who runs a fully licensed kitesurf school and has been putting people on the water for years. Whether it's your very first time holding a kite or you're working toward your first upwind runs, this is where you start.
Most kite schools put four or more students with one instructor. We think that's how you waste a holiday standing on a beach waiting your turn. So we simply don't do it.
Every lesson is private — just you, or you and one partner, with your instructor's full attention for the entire session. You spend your time on the water actually learning, not queuing. It's the single biggest difference in how fast you progress, and it's non-negotiable for us.
Solo, or with a friend or partner. Never grouped with strangers, never waiting on the beach while someone else takes a turn.
Kite, board, harness, wetsuit, helmet — everything is provided and included in the lesson price. Just bring yourself and sunscreen.
A single unified price per lesson hour with everything included — no hidden gear fees, no surprises. Contact us for current rates.
One of us is always on shore — or in the water — with a camera. Every session is captured with the same eye and equipment used for professional sports photography and commercial shoots. You'll get edited material, not raw dumps.
Full-frame cameras, telephoto glass. Timed to catch peak moments — jumps, turns, spray, speed. Not just general water shots.
Colour-graded and edited to music. Not a GoPro montage — a short film of your session that actually tells a story of the day.
Private download link within 48 hours. High-resolution files ready for print, social, or just keeping forever. You own them.
PortuKite is Nacho, Flo, and João. Between us we cover everything a great day on the water needs — the kite knowledge, the teaching, the camera, and the energy to make it genuinely memorable.
Nacho handles the water on tour. He's been in this sport since before it had a name — running schools in Tarifa and Nicaragua when kitesurfing was still a fringe obsession. He reads wind, spots, and conditions the way most people read a menu. Your safety and your session are completely in his hands.
João handles the teaching. A local who runs a fully licensed kitesurf school, he's the one who takes complete beginners from their first kite launch to their first rides — always in private lessons, never more than two students at a time.
Flo handles everything you take home. With a background in sports photography and videography, he knows how to be in the right place at the right moment — on shore, in the water, wherever the shot is. He doesn't kitesurf, which means his eyes are always on you.
What we all bring is the part that doesn't show up in a package description. We're good with people. We know how to read a group, keep the energy right, make a stranger feel like they've known us for years. The drive to the spot, the lunch break, the debrief over a cold drink — that's part of the experience too, and we take it seriously.
One of the first people to make a living from this sport. Ran kiteschools in Tarifa and Nicaragua before kitesurfing went mainstream. On the water, he's completely in his element — and so will you be.
Born and raised here, João runs a fully licensed kitesurf school and has taught hundreds of people their first rides. Patient, precise, and allergic to crowded lessons — with him it's max two students, always.
Sports photographer and videographer based in the Algarve. Doesn't kitesurf — which means his eyes are always on you, not his own kite. He co-drives, co-navigates, and makes sure the day runs smoothly from start to finish.
We keep tour groups small on purpose — maximum 4 riders — so the experience stays personal. Based near Lagos. Sessions in English, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.
For the Kitesurfari tours you need to be an independent rider — comfortable riding upwind, body dragging, and water-launching your kite. Not there yet? That's exactly what our private lessons are for.
Yes. João teaches beginners and improvers in private lessons only — maximum 2 students per instructor, with all equipment included. From your very first kite launch to your first upwind runs. Get in touch and tell us your level.
Accommodation is included: a luxury pool villa in Praia da Luz, shared with your group — up to 6 guests, your own room, communal living and pool areas. It's home base for the whole week, from the welcome dinner to the final film premiere.
Absolutely. Your partner is welcome at the group dinners, BBQ, and the film premiere — and they could even use the week to take beginner lessons with João. For accommodation, we're happy to help you find an apartment in Lagos for the two of you, subject to availability. Just ask in your enquiry.
For lessons: yes — everything is included, from kite to wetsuit. For tours: bring your own gear, or we can connect you with trusted rental partners in Lagos. Let us know your size and riding style when you book.
We don't run sessions in bad conditions. If forecast conditions fall short, we reschedule within your trip window at no extra cost. We'd rather wait for the right day.
We recommend at least a week ahead, especially in July and August. During peak season spots fill quickly. Flexible dates give us the best chance of finding a great window.
Edited photos (JPEG, high resolution), a colour-graded video edit, and all files delivered by private link within 48 hours. You own the footage — use it however you like.
Fill in the form and we'll come back to you within 24 hours with availability and forecast outlook for your dates. No commitment needed at this stage.
